HerFlow Support
HerFlow – Period Tracker is a private period and cycle tracking app for iPhone, made by one person, so every message is read by the person who wrote the app. Most questions are answered below; for anything else, email support@herflowapp.com or use Give Feedback in the app's settings.
Tracking your cycle
How do I log my period in HerFlow?
On the calendar, tap a day to open its log, or press and hold a day to mark or unmark it as a period day. In the day log you can set flow intensity, mood, symptoms, and a note.
How does HerFlow predict my next period and fertile window?
Predictions are estimates based on your cycle length, which you set when you start (28 days is the usual starting point) and can change at any time, and on the length of the periods you log.
HerFlow is not a medical device. Predictions are estimates and should not be relied on for contraception or conception planning. See the Terms of Use.
Is HerFlow a medical app?
No. HerFlow is a self-tracking and education tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and its phase explanations are general information rather than medical advice. See a healthcare provider about anything that worries you.
Why don't I see a fertile window or ovulation day?
If you have recorded a hormonal contraception method in the Health section, HerFlow hides fertility and ovulation estimates because hormonal methods change or stop ovulation. Remove the entry, or mark it as non-hormonal, and the estimates come back.
What are the five cycle phases in HerFlow?
Menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, early luteal, and late luteal. HerFlow works out which phase each day falls into from your cycle data and shows an explanation and self-care tips for it. Tap the phase card on the home screen to read more.
Can I get period and phase reminders?
Yes. In Notifications you can turn on an advance reminder before your period, phase-change updates, a fertility reminder, and an optional daily check-in, and choose the time of day. The Reminders screen also lets you create your own medication, contraception, or custom reminders that repeat daily, on chosen weekdays, every few days, or once on a date.
Sharing with a partner or loved one
How does sharing my cycle with a partner work?
- In HerFlow, open the People tab to find your random code.
- Share the code with the person you trust, in whatever way you like.
- They open HerFlow, choose to add a person, and enter your code.
From then on their app receives your cycle updates automatically. Your name and personal details are never part of what is shared, and there is no login to hand over because HerFlow has no accounts. Read more about how partner sharing works.
What does a partner see in HerFlow?
Your cycle day and current phase, your recent period days and cycle length, a plain explanation of what you may be experiencing, tips on how to support you, notifications when your period is due or a phase changes, and any symptom tags you logged today. They do not see your mood or notes unless you turn on Share this day with your partner in that day's log, and even then only for that day. Flow intensity and contraception details are never shared.
Can I stop sharing my cycle?
Yes, at any time. On the People tab, switch off Share my cycle: the summary behind your code is deleted from the server, people with your code stop seeing your cycle, and everything stays on your phone until you switch it back on. Get a new code retires your old code, so everyone holding it stops seeing your cycle, and you decide who gets the new one. Anyone following you can also remove you from their People list.
What is the People subscription, and what is free?
Tracking your own cycle, with all estimates, insights, phase guidance, reminders, themes, and languages, is free with no time limit. Sharing your own code is free too.
People is for the person doing the following. It unlocks adding people, their phase and period notifications, and the daily support tips. It starts with a free 7-day trial that needs no payment. After that, you subscribe monthly or yearly to keep following; the price is shown in the App Store before you subscribe.
How do I cancel or restore the People subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose HerFlow to change or cancel. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date stops the next charge. To restore a purchase on a new device, open Unlock People from the People tab or Settings and tap Restore Purchases.
Privacy and data
Does my data leave my phone?
Flow intensity, contraception details, and reminders stay on your device and are never uploaded to HerFlow's servers. Your mood and note are uploaded only for a day you mark Share this day. If you turn on Save to Apple Health, HerFlow also saves your period days, flow intensity, some symptoms and your mood (iOS 18 and later) to the Health app on your device; it never asks to read your Health data. Apple may sync Health data through iCloud, depending on your settings.
So that your sharing code works the moment you hand it over, HerFlow keeps a small cycle summary on its sharing server under your random code: period days from the last 30 days, cycle and period length, current cycle day and phase, and today's symptom tags. It is sent over an encrypted connection, carries no name, email, or Apple ID, and can only be read by someone who has your code. HerFlow has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Sharing is yours to control: switch off Share my cycle on the People tab at any time to delete the summary and stop all uploads. Read the full HerFlow privacy policy.
How do I delete my HerFlow data?
Clear all data in HerFlow's settings removes everything on your device and deletes the cycle summary stored under your code on the server. To remove only the server copy and keep your history, switch off Share my cycle on the People tab. Deleting the app removes local data but leaves the server record, so switch sharing off first, or email support@herflowapp.com with your code and it is removed.
Is my HerFlow data backed up?
Your cycle data lives on your device, so it is included in your normal iPhone backup to iCloud or your computer. Restoring a backup brings back your HerFlow history. On a new iPhone, HerFlow may ask you to get a new sharing code and give it out again. There is no HerFlow account to sign in to.
The app
How do I change the theme or app icon?
Open Settings, then Appearance, and pick one of eight themes: soft looks and bold ones. By default the app icon on your home screen matches the theme's family, or you can choose the soft or bold icon yourself.
Which languages does HerFlow support?
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. HerFlow follows your device language on first launch, and you can pick a different one in settings.
Which devices does HerFlow support?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 17.6 or later. HerFlow is not available for Android. Get HerFlow for iPhone on the App Store.
Something isn't working. How do I report it?
Email support@herflowapp.com or use Give Feedback inside the app. Please include your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. Bug reports are answered and fixed by the developer directly.
